Onyx Plants sources our basic inventory from several of the finest grow-houses in the US. These tropical and domestic plants arrive at our Roswell, GA growhouse as fully grown, healthy and abundant houseplants. We source only the finest stock for our current inventory, which we are replenishing and expanding on a monthly basis.
We also source exotic plants, strains and hybrids from as far away as Ecuador and Malaysia.
Every plant you receive from Onyx Plants is fresh, healthy and bug-free.
As the cloud of Covid spread across the Southeast, and self-isolation became the norm of the day, The Porten Family of north suburban Atlanta started to study and collect houseplants to provide some life around our disparate residences. Erica (Porten) Parker began growing, sprouting and growing a near houseful array of beautiful houseplants.
But typical of the Porten clan, “one time is a habit” and Erica is organizing monthly community plant sales at the Sugar Hill Brewery. For 6 months each year for 2 consecutive years. More and more vendors. Many more customers walking around, and then grabbing a fresh beer from Sugar Hill Brewery.
Each of us has been drafted by Erica for different responsibilities for these monthly events, and her “payment” to us was in plants. Engaging the remaining family members, led by Mom (Lesley) and Dad (Alan) with enduring support from Seth (twin brother) and Andy (twin brother).
Onyx Plants was born from the family’s desire to expand our knowledge and enjoyment of rare and common houseplants, and everyone, with their own professional skills, is adding to our growth.
Erica is our Product and Promotion lead, with control over the plants that we grow and sell when she is not teaching 4thgrade, or teaching swimming lessons.
Lesley uses her extensive retail and sales experience to lead our on-site sales activities, and marketing, and helps Alan maintain our grow environment.
Alan is an advertising/marketing and direct sales master. He will be managing our grow environment and provide sales leadership at all of our on-site events, when he’s not selling cybersecurity services to keep our businesses safe.
